The defect in the form of sunken cheeks does not affect the physiological capabilities of a person, but at the same time the face looks disproportionate, which is associated with a violation of its anatomical contours. People with sunken cheeks often look tired, sometimes sick.

Contouring of cheeks
For quite a long time, surgeons around the world have been practicing contour plastic surgery to eliminate the defect of sunken cheeks and increase their volume. The corrective procedure consists of injections into the cheeks, resulting in filling of subcutaneous tissue, deep and shallow wrinkles, as well as scars with special fillers. In addition to correcting the defect of sunken cheeks, the injection technique is widely used to increase the volume and change the shape of the lips, while these two procedures are perfectly combined and can be performed simultaneously.

Doctors and cosmetologists give the greatest preference to fillers based on hyaluronic acid. Such fillers are temporary and require repeated administration, which is due to the absorption of water molecules by the skin, which is part of hyaluronic acid. The most common fillers on the market of cosmetic preparations are products presented by Restylane, Juviderm, Perline companies.

The duration of contouring will not take more than 1 hour, after which the patient can leave the clinic and return to his normal lifestyle. The results are visible immediately after injections and are stored for up to 1 year.

Lipofilling
The procedure is of a medical, cosmetic nature, during which a change in the shape and volume of the cheeks occurs by injecting the patient’s own fatty tissues. For this purpose, fat cells are used, taken from those places where they are in excess: buttocks, abdomen or thighs. After the fat cells are taken, they are sent to a special centrifuge, where they are cleaned of impurities of blood, lymph and medicines, at the output they receive high-quality material that can be used for transplantation into the cheeks.

This technique has a significant advantage, because the body does not reject its own tissues, they perfectly take root in a new place. After the procedure, the effect persists for a long time, due to the germination of blood vessels into the transplanted tissues.

Before performing the procedure, the patient is injected with local anesthesia, after which fat cells are injected into the cheek area: first into the deep layers, then moving closer to the surface layers. After the procedure, swelling may persist for the first 3-4 days.

The lipofilling procedure involves the introduction of a volume of adipose tissue more than is required, because the survival rate of cells is 75%.

Installation of implants
Depending on the cause of the formation of the defect of sunken cheeks, the technique of implantation of prostheses can be used, while their manufacture takes place directly for each client on the basis of anthropometric data of the site where the implant will be installed.

The procedure involves the introduction of local, sometimes general anesthesia, after which the surgeon forms a special pocket in the cheek area to install the prosthesis and places the implant there. From the outside, they are fixed with a medical plaster. Within an hour after the implant is installed, a special capsule is formed in this area, which acts as an endoprosthesis holder.

The duration of the procedure is no more than 1 hour, edema may remain after the procedure for 7-14 days, numbness of facial areas may also be observed, which is due to the proximity of the implant to the nerve endings.
