Pink acne
Pink acne is a manifestation of chronic dermatosis, which is based on the defeat of capillaries, hair follicles and sebaceous glands on human skin. The disease is characterized by persistent erythema of the skin, manifested by red nodules with pustules. Pink acne is diagnosed in almost half of the population belonging to the white race.
CAUSES OF PINK ACNE
A single cause provoking the onset of this disease has not been established, but factors are known, the combination of which significantly increases the likelihood of developing the disease.
Pink acne is manifested as a result of hypothermia, overheating or insolation of the skin, stressful situations or prolonged use of certain medications. Improper facial skin care, including unprofessional use of chemical peels and scrubs, can provoke the appearance of a vascular network. This is the main cause of the appearance of pink acne.
This disease can be provoked by the intake of carbonated and hot drinks, smoking, spicy and spicy food, the presence of allergic contact dermatitis.
SYMPTOMS OF PINK ACNE
Pink acne has several stages.
The prodromal period is characterized by sharp and unexpected flushes to the skin of the face. This is a reaction to stimuli that are invisible to most people – even small doses of alcohol. The blush has a bright and clear border on the face.
The first stage is characterized by erythema of the skin, even without risk factors and an increase in the fat content of the skin, due to the use of cosmetics to remove the fat content of the skin, a violation of hydro-exchange and excessive sebum separation.
The second stage is characterized not only by redness of the skin, but also the appearance of small pustules and papules.
The third stage is characterized by the manifestation of visually noticeable erythema, dense vascular network in the chin and wings of the nose, pustules, papules and dense nodes.
This disease has a wave-like course, with periods of exacerbation and remission. After a certain time, the duration of remissions decreases, and the periods of exacerbations increase. Ultimately, in the absence of timely treatment, an infiltrative stage of the disease may occur, when the entire skin of the face is thickened, inflamed and swollen.
DIAGNOSIS OF PINK ACNE
The diagnosis of pink acne is confirmed by a visual examination by a dermatologist. The main confirmation of the presence of this particular disease is the absence of black dots on the face and comedones.
For final confirmation, laboratory tests are carried out: sowing and examination of the contents of pustules, to exclude staphylococcal infection.
TREATMENT OF PINK ACNE
At the first stage, the disease is not so pronounced and perfectly masked with decorative cosmetics, but this stage is the most responsive to the beginning of treatment.
For the treatment of pink acne, drugs are prescribed that strengthen the vascular walls and reduce the excitability of patients, to reduce the release of adrenaline into their blood, which significantly reduces the symptoms of pink acne. Injections of nicotinic acid and taking vitamins A and C also normalize the work of the autonomic system and strengthen the walls of blood vessels. Washing with chamomile infusion brings a good effect.
For the treatment of the second and third stages of pink acne, the use of gels containing antibiotics is required in order to achieve an anti-inflammatory effect. After the elimination of the inflammatory process, it is necessary to eliminate the main cause of acne – an enlarged vascular network. To do this, laser and electrocoagulation are prescribed in order to thrombize excess vessels and achieve their removal naturally.
Unfortunately, a complete cure for this disease is impossible, but thanks to complex and timely therapy, a stable remission can be achieved.
With timely treatment, there are no traces on the skin from pink acne. In the absence of such, small scars and scars remain on the skin.
