Ovarian dysfunction
Ovarian dysfunction is a rather serious disease, which is, as a rule, a direct result of hormonal disorders.
Causes of ovarian dysfunction
The main reason that causes the appearance of this disease is hormonal disorders. Such failures are provoked by a number of different factors:
Endocrine disorder;
Sexually transmitted diseases;
Inflammatory processes in the genitourinary system;
Severe stress;
Chronic fatigue;
Termination of pregnancy (with medications or surgical intervention);
A spiral installed in the uterine cavity in the wrong way;
Taking medications that can lead to a violation of the menstrual cycle.
Ovarian dysfunction is characterized by possible complications, which include infertility, cancer and other serious diseases.
Symptoms
Ovarian dysfunction usually occurs when the pituitary gland malfunctions, which are responsible for the release of hormones such as prolactin, luteinizing and follicle-stimulating substances. With insufficient or too many hormones , the following signs are observed:
Pulling or dull pain in the lower abdomen;
Severe premenstrual syndrome;
Dysfunctional bleeding that occurs between periods;
A variety of menstrual disorders: meager or copious bleeding throughout the menstrual cycle, constant delays in menstruation, lack of ovulation.
Indirect signs include:
Foamy discharge;
Unpleasant odor from the vagina;
Allocation of an uncharacteristic shade;
Discomfort and slight burning sensation when urinating
How is the diagnosis carried out?
The following basic methods are used to diagnose ovarian dysfunction:
Ultrasound of organs located in the pelvis;
Hormone tests;
MRI of the brain;
PCR, as well as tissue biopsy in the cervical region.
The set of measures to determine the disease may vary depending on the history of dysfunction and the individual characteristics of a particular patient.
Methods of treatment of ovarian dysfunction
First of all, it should be noted that the therapy of this disease is carried out only inpatient, but in the case of its mild course, outpatient treatment is allowed. The main goal is to obtain the following results:
Elimination of the disease that caused the occurrence and development of dysfunction;
Normalization of the patient’s current condition;
Regulation of the menstrual cycle.
At the first stages, treatment should be carried out under the supervision of a urologist, because in most cases hormonal disorders occur due to problems associated with the genitourinary system. Also, other specialists may be involved in the process of diagnosis and therapy, depending on the factors that caused the disease.
Progesterone is used to normalize menstrual zinc. It is usually used in the last third of this cycle. In most cases, the drug causes ovulation. After the end of menstruation, the doctor prescribes the most suitable hormonal drugs. Sometimes combined oral contraceptives are recommended as them. Thus, normalization and support of the hormonal background in women is ensured.
With successful treatment, after the normal menstrual cycle is restored, the patient can become pregnant without any problems. But at the same time, we should not forget that a woman who has hormonal disorders is automatically at risk.
