Miscarriage is a spontaneous termination of pregnancy caused by various pathological processes. According to statistics, more than 15% end in spontaneous miscarriages, namely every 5th pregnancy. Miscarriage can develop at different dates, most often in the early (up to 11 weeks).
Moreover, often a woman does not even realize that she was pregnant and had a miscarriage. Early miscarriages are primarily associated with genetic disorders of fetal development, which are incompatible with the further development of pregnancy. Experts say that in most cases, the female body itself is to blame for such miscarriages. Rather, he is not to blame, but is the initiator of spontaneous abortion. Sometimes a woman’s body knows better than a woman that this pregnancy will not develop as it should, and according to the laws of natural selection, a miscarriage occurs.
CAUSES OF MISCARRIAGE
There are many reasons why fetal rejection can occur:
Hormonal disorders and diseases of the endocrine system. This also applies to the dysfunction of sex hormones.
Sexually transmitted diseases.
Chronic diseases of the urinary and reproductive systems.
Cervical insufficiency (isthmic-cervical).
Anomalies and malformations of the uterus, fallopian tubes, ovaries.
Bad habits.
Excessive physical exertion, hard physical labor.
Prolonged stressful situations.
Negative influence of external factors – chemicals, radiation, gas pollution, hard work at the computer.
Diseases of internal organs – the cardiovascular system, kidneys, lungs – that cause stress on the body.
Among the listed reasons, cervical insufficiency and sexually transmitted diseases are leading. In addition, some infections, such as rubella, are also extremely dangerous for fetal development.
Another reason for the development of miscarriage is the rhesus conflict of the baby and the mother. This happens if the mother has a negative Rh factor in the blood, and the child is positive. In particular, this reason often manifests itself in repeated pregnancies, when the number of antibodies to a positive fetus becomes more and more. Thus, immunological incompatibility occurs.
Despite all the reasons, the danger of miscarriage is that with each miscarriage, the probability that a subsequent pregnancy will end in a spontaneous abortion increases more and more. In this regard, doctors have identified a whole term – habitual miscarriage, which has been being put more and more often lately.
SYMPTOMS OF MISCARRIAGE
Before a miscarriage develops, a special condition occurs in a woman’s body, which is called the threat of miscarriage. At this stage, a woman has a small discharge, slightly stained with blood, and also unpleasant painful sensations appear, the lower abdomen pulls, and pain can also be given to the lower back.
If treatment is provided at this stage, there may not be further development, but, unfortunately, a woman does not always know about her situation, so the miscarriage develops further.
Further, the symptoms worsen, there is a complete or partial rejection of the fetal egg from the endometrium and the exit of the remains of the fetus. The process is accompanied by severe pain and intense bleeding with clots.
More than half of women develop depression after a miscarriage, which can last for a long time.
TREATMENT OF MISCARRIAGE
There is no single treatment for spontaneous abortion. First of all, after an abortion, you should undergo a comprehensive examination and identify the cause of a failed pregnancy. Having found out this, it is necessary to restore the spent forces of the body and eliminate the causes. After a miscarriage, it should take at least six months before the next pregnancy attempt. During this period, the body is able to recover, during sexual life, oral contraceptives should be protected.
