Human papillomavirus
Human papillomavirus is a family of viruses that cause changes in skin cells and mucous membranes.
Causes of papillomas
The main cause of infection with the papilloma virus is sexual contact with a partner who is a carrier of the virus. Contact infection can occur not only through the vagina, but also through the oral cavity and rectum. Infection can occur at the household level or during childbirth. The cause of the development of this viral infection may be:
weakening of immunity;
alcohol and tobacco abuse;
disorders of the gastrointestinal tract;
flu;
stress, etc.
The human papillomavirus is the most common infection and all segments of the population who live a sexual life without exception are at risk. Unfortunately, the use of a condom is not a guarantee of safety from papilloma, since it can also be transmitted through contact with the skin of the carrier.
This virus cannot enter human organs, tissues or blood. The most favorable place for its reproduction is the deep layers of human skin, where its localization takes place. When the virus matures, it moves to the infected area, and after that it becomes dangerous for infection. When the virus is deep in the layers of human skin, it is not dangerous.
Dangerous places from the point of view of infection with this virus are swimming pools, baths, beaches, etc., that is, places where there is high humidity, and a person has a minimum amount of clothing.
Symptoms of human papillomavirus
The symptoms of this disease directly depend on the type of virus. As a rule, in infected people, this virus is in a dormant state and does not manifest itself, because it is under the control of immunity.
Condylomas are low–risk viruses. The appearance of condylomas indicates a weakened human immunity. As a rule, the localization of warts occurs in the places of contact during sexual intercourse, near the anus and on the genitals. The virus can manifest itself after a considerable time after infection. Condylomas, which are wart growths, eventually turn into multi-layered formations. Depending on the state of immunity, warts either grow or disappear on their own.
Warts are benign skin tumors, and unlike viral ones, they regularly appear and also disappear regularly, depending on the state of the human immune system.
Cervical cancer – develops due to the activity of the papilloma virus. Women need to undergo regular gynecological examination, because in the later stages of the disease it is difficult to treat.
Common symptoms of the papilloma virus include a burning sensation and discomfort in the genital area, during sexual contact or touching. Unusual discharge may also indicate the presence of a virus. In many cases, the symptoms of the virus are completely absent, and the person does not suspect that he may be a carrier of the disease.
Diagnosis of human papillomavirus
PCR;
examination by a urologist and gynecologist;
cytological examination of the smear;
histological examination.
Treatment of human papillomavirus
Treatment is prescribed by a dermatologist. Both external means and modern instrumental techniques for the removal of papillomas are used.
When treating papilloma directly, it is necessary to identify and eliminate the cause that provoked the weakening of the human immune system so that a relapse does not occur.
