Genital pain in men
Pain in the genitals in men may indicate pathology of the external and internal genitalia, diseases of the urinary tract, rectum of infectious-inflammatory, traumatic, tumor etiology. Radiating pains occur in some acute surgical diseases of the abdominal cavity. The determination of causal pathology is carried out using modern imaging methods (ultrasound of the scrotum and penis, urography, MRI of the external genitals), laboratory studies. Treatment depends on the localization and genesis of the pathological process, can be conservative or surgical.

Pain in the genitals in men occurs with acute and chronic pathology of the penis, scrotum, prostate, urethra, bladder, rectum, abdominal organs. Often, at the same time, the pain gives to the pubis, groin, perineum. Pain in the genitals can be different in intensity and nature: aching, stabbing, shooting, burning, etc. The causes of pain in the genitals, as well as their localization, are different:
Anomalies of the structure of the genitals. Painful sensations usually occur during urination, sexual arousal, coitus, but can also be felt at rest. Malformations of the male genitals include hypospadias, congenital phimosis, cryptorchidism.
Inflammation of the genitourinary organs. It can occur as a result of sexual infection, ascending or descending spread of infection, hematogenic and lymphogenic infection. In men, it often occurs in the form of urethritis, cystitis, prostatitis, orchitis, often accompanied by purulent discharge from the urethra.
Tumors. Neoplasia (neoplasms of the bladder, urethra, penis cancer, erythroplasia of the hip, prostate cancer) is often accompanied by persistent pain syndrome, violation of urination, the appearance of hematuria.
Injuries. The most frequent injuries to the external genitals are bruises, burns, frostbite, pinching, incised and gunshot wounds of the genitals, penile fractures. Pain in the penis can be caused by the introduction of foreign bodies under the skin of the penis or into the urethral canal for the purpose of sexual satisfaction.
Acute surgical conditions. Radiating pain in the genitals in men may indicate the development of acute diseases of the abdominal organs: appendicitis, strangulated hernia, renal colic.
