Acne is a dermatological disease characterized by inflammation of the sebaceous gland and blockage of the excretory duct of the sebaceous gland. The main elements are white comedone (blockage of the excretory duct by the epithelium of the skin) and black comedone (blockage by the epithelium of the enlarged and altered excretory duct of the sebaceous gland).
TYPES OF ACNE
Stage 1 – comedones are mostly located on the forehead, nose wings, chin. There are no pustules.
Stage 2 – closed comedones, nodes and single pustules (bubbles with pus) are added.
Stage 3 – open comedones, pustullosis, nodes on the nose, forehead, cheeks and chin. Hyperkeratosis over the entire skin of the face.
Stage 4 – hormone-dependent acne. Most often occurs in middle-aged people. Localization: lower third of the face, jaw line, neck, chin.
Degree 5 – fusion of comedones, open and closed, nodes, pustullosis, formation of cysts. Severe form, it is quite rare.
symptoms
In place of the largest sebaceous glands, inflammatory processes are formed, surrounding tissues are involved with the formation of abscesses. With pustullosis, the elements filled with pus are opened, the pus expires, the bubbles dry up, form crusts, after which disfiguring scars are formed, bluish-red in color. The face at the same time looks loose, pitted, the surface of the skin is bumpy.
treatment
Acne treatment is long and requires a lot of endurance and patience, it can last up to several months, years. In most cases, acne requires serious drug therapy: taking antibiotics, autohemotherapy (injecting your own blood into muscle tissue, producing your own antibodies), administration of antistaphylococcal gamma globulin with a special course. In case of endocrine disorders – the appointment of estrogens. It is very important for acne to identify the cause of acne and the rehabilitation of the underlying disease, which can also be very long.
Local treatment consists in treating the affected areas of the skin with 2-3% salicylic acid solution. A good effect is given by local irradiation with ultraviolet rays, cryotherapy of inflamed skin, diathermocoagulation of nodes and comedones. In some cases, zinc preparations are prescribed – ointments, pastes, oral administration of drugs.
In the formation of abscesses, surgical treatment is indicated – autopsy, sanitation and drainage, the imposition of aseptic dressings with pus-pulling drugs. Comedones are also removed. With juvenile acne, treatment is aimed at eliminating seborrhea.
In addition to general and local treatment, lifestyle is being adjusted. First of all, a diet is prescribed – restriction of fatty and fried foods, spicy, the use of a large amount of fiber to stimulate the intestines and eliminate toxins from it.
